The IDA World Congress will take place November 7-12, 2009 in Dubai, UAE, at the Atlantis Resort on the Palm. Attendees will include end-users (utilities), manufacturers and suppliers, government officials, consultants, researchers, financiers and members of academia.
Under the theme "Desalination for a Better World," the Congress will address environmental and energy impacts of desalination on the global stage by exploring the challenges, trends and advances in the industry, as a reflection of the aim of both IDA and the industry to make desalination and water reuse sustainable and affordable.

The IDA World Congress 2009 will feature five days of technical sessions, lectures, roundtable discussions, interactive sessions and workshops. A concurrent exhibition will showcase scores of companies displaying the latest equipment and technology.  In addition to its educational content, the Congress will offer unparalleled opportunities for networking, cultural and information exchange, including plant tours, a golf tournament, gala dinner, cultural night and spouse program.

IDA expects to surpass 1,800 delegates from over 80 countries during the 2009 World Congress, which will show case the growing demand and high interest level in desalination and water reuse as a solution to the world's water issues. The global water crisis is as critical as global climate change; desalination and advanced water reuse offer hope of new water for the world from unlimited seas and water reuse programs.

We all hope to contribute to the vision that desalination will create new water affordable to the world community.
